Ross Castle is one of the most famous landmarks of Killarney National Park and it continues to attract thousands of visitors every year. On Ross Island, just over 2km from Ross Castle, is Library Point, a limestone rock formation on the shores of Lough Leane. The beautiful trail that leads out to Library Point is an idyllic journey through woodland tracks and lakeshore paths. Ross Castle in one of the most popular attractions within Killarney National Park. Its proximity to the town centre in a tranquil setting means that it is a favourite with locals and visitors alike. The trails around Ross Island are a little less visited and are one of my favourite spots to walk, run or stroll around with the family. On a recent sunny winter’s day, it provided the perfect backdrop for a brisk lunchtime stroll.
